Bet99 Taps UFC Legend Georges St-Pierre for Responsible Gaming Push

Georges St-Pierre, sometimes known as GSP, is the ideal person to recruit and promote responsible gambling if you're an iGaming company.

St-Pierre, a member of the UFC Hall of Fame, dominated the welterweight and middleweight divisions in the octagon by combining Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, and striking skills. He became known as one of the most technical boxers in history after winning 26 fights, losing only two, and defending the title nine times. For ten years, St-Pierre was the UFC welterweight champion.

Discipline and Grit

The new GSP-starring TV, web, and social media ad is an extension of a 2022 Bet99 advertising campaign. This latest one, which highlights the resources the Bet99 platform offers to assist users in gambling sensibly, has GSP dressed in karate.

The humorous 30-second commercial features GSP ringing a young man's doorbell, giving him a suitcase, moving in, and informing him, "Still Here for You!" before hanging up a "Gamble Responsibly" advertisement.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) granted Bet99 a license in September 2022, making it one of the first licensed companies in Ontario's regulated iGaming sector. The previous April saw the launch of Ontario's regulated market.

Pro athletes are only permitted to participate in advertising efforts that support responsible gaming in Ontario. Ads promoting the sportsbook or online casino platforms themselves are prohibited.

Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs is one of the professional players that Bet99 has previously collaborated with. One of the 48 authorized sites in the province that provide both casino and sports betting is Bet99.

Similar to other Ontario operators, Bet99's products are dominated by casino. According to data given by iGaming Ontario on Wednesday, internet casinos received 85% of the record CA$9.2 billion in wagers in October.
